Local Hawk

This is the picture of a Hawk that will normally hang out at an overpass to an interstate highway. I think the hawk has a very good view of the area from here. I got lucky and the show has some excellent details of the hawks face.

Bozeman Montana

This was originlly a simple picture of a sunset. However one day i got the bright idea to make a lightning strike appear. The concept was the arc is lighting up the background instead of the sun. I thought it was the perfect combination.

B & W

I loved this photo. It was originaly color and the branche that appears to be behind the right wing was in fact in front of the right wing. I was able to reconstruct the wing and make it appear behind the butterfly. Finally i thought the black and wite background was perfect for this picture.

Bridge

This is a composite of 5 different pictures. I wanted to get the whole bridge, but there was no place for me to physically stand and get the detail i wanted. So i took 5 pictures and merged them. It is a bridge at a local state park. I dont think it exists any more. I think it got washed out recently.

Red Tail Hawk

You cannot see it here in this picture, but the hawk allowed me to get within 20 feet while it ate a mouse. I got some of the most impressive pictures that day.

Two frogs hanging out in one of my mom's lilly pad buckets. I was completely surprised how much they did not move.

Beautiful morning picture on my way to work. I really tried to get the contrasting colors of the sky, and the trees.

Alex

This is a photo of Alex this summer standing next to the mammoth Sunflowers in the garden. I measured the sunflower over his head and it was about 14 feet tall.

Lastly i took that same picture made it black and white and ran it through live trace in adobe Illustrator. I cleaned up a few of the blenishes and just simple leaned it up a bit. I added just a tinge of blue to his eyes and there you have it.

This is the same picture as below, however this time i used a little cartoon filtering from GIMP. The more I play with this filter, the more i eally like it. I also cropped this phot just a bit to get rid of the DD sinage.
